EMIs likely to rise as RBI hikes key rate

The increase in rates could raise cost of borrowings for banks who in turn will increase their marginal cost of lending rate, which is reviewed every month. The RBI has projected inflation at 4.8% in the second half of fiscal year 2019 and 5% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2020. The central bank has also retained a GDP growth forecast of 7.3-7.4% for the second half of FY19 and 7.5% for the first quarter of FY20.
