Builder told to pay Rs 19L in Rs 50L flat row
The state consumer commission recently ordered a builder to pay a total of Rs 19 lakh as compensation for accepting Rs 50 lakh from a flat buyer in 2013 but failing to deliver. In addition to handing over a flat measuring 550 square feet in its Ulwe project, the builder, Radiance Properties (India), will have to pay compensation for “hoarding” the money. The compensation amount includes interest on the Rs 50 lakh the buyer paid.
