India adds more than 69,000 babies on January 1

India was followed by China, Nigeria, Pakistan and Indonesia. India accounts for 18% of the estimated 3,95,072 babies born globally daily, said Unicef. In 2017, about 1 million babies died the day they were born, and 2.5 million in just their first month.
