45-day trial deadline, Rs 25 lakh to Unnao rape survivor: Key points

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the transfer of all cases registered in connection with the Unnao rape incident from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi. The SC said the trial will be completed within 45 days. An SC bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi also directed the Uttar Pradesh government to provide Rs 25 lakh to the rape survivor as an interim compensation.
