
For Jaihind Koli, a 53-year-old Dharavi fisherman, Ganeshotsav has always meant a bit of a windfall. In a side hustle for 30 years that has seen his three kids through college, Koli, the owner of Jai Bhavani Musical orchestra, has played the drums inside a variety of venues including ladies' bars, Tamil functions, Muslim weddings and most importantly, Ganeshotsav, where he made some much-needed moolah by reproducing Hindi chartbusters "cut-to-cut" by banging two wooden sticks on a set of drums atop a slow-moving vegetable cart.
