Mumbai: Reay Road bridge shut after mishap

Yet another bridge in the city has been shut, following an accident. Around 6am on Wednesday, a truck ran into Reay Road bridge, which runs over Harbour tracks, damaging one of its cast iron pillars, prompting BMC’s bridges department to shut it. The slum-infested bridge is on the periphery of the city’s southeastern fringe and goes towards the Darukhana industrial estates and the docks (see map). It is mainly used by goods tempos and trucks, and pedestrians.
