Mumbai witnesses heavy rains in last 24 hours

Very heavy rains were recorded in Mumbai in the 24 hours ending at 8.30am on Tuesday and also in parts of the suburbs and neighboring areas, like Thane and Navi Mumbai. The rain recorded between September 2-3 by IMD Santa Cruz observatory was 131.4 mm, falling into the very heavy rain category (115.6mm- 204.4mm). The IMD has forecast heavy rains at isolated places in city and suburbs in the coming 24 hours.
