Mumbai: Youth jailed for biting girl's cheek

A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act court has convicted and sentenced a 21-year-old man to 11 months’ imprisonment for sneaking into a 17-year-old girl’s home and biting her right cheek in October 2018. Months before the incident, in March 2018, the accused had been acquitted, in another case, of charges of kidnapping, raping and forcibly marrying the same girl in 2015. The court had then found the girl who was 15 years old at the time had consensually eloped, “married” the man and got sexually involved with him.
