Traffic police eye parking lots at Mumbai malls

Traffic police have told city malls to throw open their parking lots to the public on weekdays and charge them as per existing rates. This is aimed at addressing the parking crisis as on-street and off-street parking spaces are falling woefully short for the high vehicle population. Mall managements have given mixed reactions, with some of them expressing concerns of safety and security.
