Traffic, flooding still poll issues in Bandra East

The Bandra East assembly seat is a prestigious one for Shiv Sena as it is home to Matoshree, the residence of party chief Uddhav Thackeray. And this time, the Sena nominee, mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, is pitted against sitting Sena MLA Trupti Sawant, who is contesting as an independent candidate as the party had denied her a ticket. Trupti is the widow of former MLA Prakash (Bala) Sawant, whose death necessitated the bypoll in Bandra East seat in 2015, barely a year after he was elected.
