Cops want Sion flyover repairs on weekends

To ensure smooth traffic movement on weekdays, Mumbai Traffic Police has urged MSRDC to carry out repairs on the 1.14km Sion flyover only on weekends. The 16-year-old flyover needs replacement of load bearings that are crucial in ensuring longer life. The work will take two months. Heavy vehicles are banned on the bridge but shutting it completely will wreck north and south-bound vehicular movement.
