Maha: NGOs want state govt to abandon NPR plan

Several social organisations that represent women, queer and 'trans' persons Tuesday appealed to the Maharashtra government to abandon its plan to implement National Population Register (NPR), terming it the first step towards National Register of Citizens (NRC). They stressed the need to separate the Census 2021 process from NPR.
