MU’s research funding jumps 3-fold in 3 years

Research funding received by Mumbai University has increased over threefold in three years. Data submitted by the university to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) shows that funding received for sponsorship and consultancy projects went up from Rs 6.3 crore in 2016-17, to Rs 20.1 crore in 2018-19—an increase of over 220%. Over 85% of the total funding received was for sponsored research projects.
