BMC teams seize 1,028kg plastic, net Rs 3.7L

The BMC seized 1,028kg of single-use plastic bags and plastic material in the city and collected Rs 3.7 lakh as penalty from violators on Monday. Civic officials visited 4,081 shops, hawkers and establishments on Monday, to check for use of banned plastic items and carry bags. The BMC renewed its drive against plastic use from Sunday.
