New Bombay HC CJ to drive down from Kolkata

The President of India on Thursday appointed Justice Dipankar Datta, senior judge of Calcutta high court, as chief justice of Bombay high court. The notification was issued five days after the Supreme Court collegium recommended names for elevation and transfer. The new CJ is expected to take oath on April 28 and is likely to travel down by road from Kolkata, a distance of nearly 2,000km.
