NGT junks plea against CRZ nod to MTHL

The principal bench of the NGT on Friday paved the way for work to proceed on the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) connecting Sewri with Nhava-Sheva by dismissing a challenge to a 2016 coastal regulation zone clearance granted by the environment ministry. The NGT said the CRZ clearance had several important riders as safeguards for “the protection of mudflats, mangroves and flamingos habitat” .
