Councillor told to deposit Rs 1L with BMC

The Bombay high court on Tuesday directed Balchandra Shirsat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to deposit Rs 1 lakh with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) if he wishes to challenge the validity of a rule under the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act against an October 23 order removing him as its standing committee member.
