The city woke up on Monday morning to its highest minimum temperature for January in at least a decade. The Indian Meteorological Department’s Santacruz observatory recorded a night temperature of 23 degree Celsius—5.7 degrees above normal. High temperature, during the day too, resulted in an improved air quality index (AQI) of 266 on Monday compared with over 300 in the past few days. An AQI of 266 is still considered poor though.
