Excise department will miss target by Rs 6kcr

The lockdown prompted by Covid-19 and a second bump in cases has torpedoed resource mobilisation by the government, and it seems likely that the excise department — a major revenue contributor — will not be able to meet its target of Rs 19,225 crore for 2020-21, said officials.
