Rising mercury boosts power demand in city

The rising mercury levels have led to power consumption soaring across the state, especially in Mumbai. The peak power demand in Maharashtra was the highest this year at 24,877 MW on Friday morning of which the demand in Mumbai was 2,664 MW, according to officials in Mahagenco.
