BMC puts Mahalaxmi Jumbo Center plan on hold

With Covid-19 cases dropping drastically in the city and the number of beds vacant increasing, the BMC has put on hold its plan to build a new jumbo Covid centre at Mahalaxmi Race Course. While the BMC had floated tenders for the jumbo centre, it looked for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for the project too. However, corporates found the centre too expensive.
