Western Railway to shut Frere bridge for repairs

From January 16 midnight, Western Railway will shut the British-era corroded Frere road over-bridge (ROB) at Grant Road to undertake repairs. The closure is likely to throw vehicular traffic out of gear in south Mumbai till May, when the work is expected to be completed. Last year, heavy vehicles were barred entry on the ROB.
